Sis, Tell Your Story & Squad Up
Speaker: Brigette Kyei-Nimakoh
There is power in your story. When you share it, you begin to see who has been walking with you all along. This is a chance to honor our stories and connect with others. Sometimes we forget to embrace our own journey and the people who make up our village. This talk is an invitation to pause, to find the courage to acknowledge our story, and to recognize the community that supports us.
From Brigette:
“I’m so excited to be able to come and speak with She Unites!
I’ve been in Dubuque for about seven years now with my husband and our three children (#boymom).
Does that make me an official Dubuquer yet? I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, earned my undergraduate degree from Illinois State University, and completed my master’s at Eastern Illinois University. I currently serve as the Assistant Dean and Director of Student Life at the University of Dubuque.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me in the kitchen. Cooking for my loved ones is truly my love language; there’s nothing better than feeding them and hearing how much they enjoyed it. If it’s delicious, I’ll gladly take the credit… but if it’s not, well, my husband made it. I’ve also come to enjoy gardening, connecting with loved ones, and simply being in the comfort of my home.
I welcome you to be part of this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to connect with and meet all of you.”
All are welcome. All are worthy. All belong.
